SARA LEE FOODSERVICE INTRODUCES WHOLE GRAIN MINI CORN DOGS
|
Builds on Success of Original Whole Grain Corn Dogs, Popularity of Whole Grain Products
DOWNERS GROVE, Ill. (Jan. 16, 2007) – Sara Lee Foodservice is introducing State Fair® whole grain mini corn dogs to provide customers with another great-tasting, nutritional product that responds to a growing trend of incorporating more whole grains into a variety of foods.
Our whole grain mini corn dogs provide operators with a winning combination: a fun kid’s meal that’s nutritional and easy to prepare," said Ken Silberhorn, vice president, meat product management, Sara Lee Foodservice. "State Fair whole grain mini corn dogs deliver the same great taste as our original four-ounce product and they’re versatile, so customers can incorporate them into their appetizer menus."
State Fair whole grain mini corn dogs start with a delicious white meat turkey frank. The whole- grain batter is made from fine ground whole wheat flour blended with whole-grain corn meal and honey for a rich, golden brown color and great texture. A serving of six, 0.7 ounces of mini corn dogs is the equivalent of two ounces of protein and two servings of a bread alternative.
