SARA LEE FOODSERVICE INTRODUCES THREE NEW CHEESECAKES

Builds on Tradition of Providing Quality, Innovative Products to Delight Customers

DOWNERS GROVE, Ill. (Nov. 15, 2006) – Sara Lee Foodservice introduced three new cheesecakes, including Swiss Double Chocolate, California and an Extra Tall plain New York style cheesecake, to provide operators with a variety of great-tasting desserts that combine restaurant quality with convenience and ease of handling.

"These new products represent the latest evolution in Sara Lee’s strong cheesecake heritage," said Jason Katzman, director of marketing, bakery, Sara Lee Foodservice. "Our new cheesecakes are innovative, on-trend products that will give our customers an exciting new dessert option to delight their customers and drive dessert sales." In fact, according to a recent consumer survey, when asked which dessert they were most likely to purchase, 29 percent surveyed said cheesecake, which was the most popular dessert out of eight dessert categories.1

Sara Lee and Bistro Collection Desserts provide operators with a range of selections that offer the essence of affordable indulgence and add refined casual elegance to any menu, with pastry chef- quality eye appeal, intricate decorations, premium inclusions, ingredients and indulgent toppings. Sara Lee and Bistro Collection also offer thaw and serve convenience and pre-sliced portion control and ease of handling.

The three new products, available to ship on Feb. 5, 2007 are:

Sara Lee® Extra Tall New York Style Cheesecake is 3-½ inches tall – a full one inch taller than the current Sara Lee cheesecake. Building on its heritage, Sara Lee has enhanced this recipe with 100 percent cream cheese and natural bourbon vanilla. Sara Lee developed this cheesecake as a result of customer insight testing where the choice of an "extra tall," plain cheesecake was well received.

Sara Lee® California Style Cheesecake is a lemony New York Style cheesecake with a real sour cream topping. This cheesecake is 2 ½ inches of 100 percent cream cheese, natural bourbon vanilla extract and natural lemon in the batter. Sara Lee developed this new product after receiving customer feedback – primarily from West Coast customers – about the demand for a traditional California-style cheesecake.

Sara Lee’s Bistro Collection Swiss Double Chocolate Cheesecake is a New York-style cheesecake made with real Swiss Chocolate atop a decadent chocolate crumb crust. "This cheesecake will delight customers who want a little indulgence," said Katzman.
